Intensive session

AI is shoving its way into design processes, superfast. The good news: AI is just a layer on top of an established system that’s been around since the late 1960s. While it may seem like AI changes everything, the tried-and-tested system of objects, states, and relationships that has carried software development for 75+ years has even more to say about avoiding Franken-products that make no sense at all. In this AI-atmosphere, systems thinking is no longer a niche nice-to-have; it’s mandatory. Especially considering how almost half of hiring managers rank it in their top desired skills for new hires.

In this intensive session, you’ll learn:

  • Foundational systems thinking concepts (specifically representation and objects).
  • How AI is simply an abstraction over a 75-year-old system that likely won’t change even as technology on top of it changes.
  • How we can use this knowledge in AI-integrated design to improve our processes, systems, and designs.

What you’ll need:

You’ll work offline with a Markdown (.md) file during this workshop. You can use any text or Markdown editor you're comfortable with, including Cursor, VS Code, Obsidian, MarkText, or even the text editor that comes installed on your computer.
